OUR POINT OF DIFFERENCE IN CARE

Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, we think that, for your pet, there's no place like home.

Your pet is NEVER unattended while at our hospital.

We try and send your pet home the same day for most medical and surgical cases because that is where they feel most comfortable and will recover more quickly and with less stress.

Pets

The Adirondack Park Pet Hospital and The Animal Clinic of Malone are two inter-related small animal veterinary practices operated by Dr Stu Stevens, a kind, caring and skilled veterinarian and his competent staff in Saranac Lake and Malone.

We see dogs, cats and offer skilled care for reptiles and other small mammals.  We offer state of the art veterinary medical and surgical care combined with compassion and professionalism.

We understand that your pets are important members of your family and your life and want you to have options in choosing your pet's health care.  We give you those options.  At both our practices, we believe that a small but efficient veterinary hospital can still deliver top medical and surgical services and, because we know our patients well, we offer better and more individualized veterinary care.

Both the hospitals are self-sufficient facilities with separate staff, ready to help you and your pets.  Each practice offers examinations, hospitalization, blood testing, radiology, abdominal ultrasound, fecal and urine testing, anesthesia, surgery and dentistry.   We are wellness and early disease detection oriented practices.  It is much easier to keep your pet healthy with semi-annual visits than it is to try to bring your pet back from a protracted, debilitating illness.  Because of this, we recommend regular blood testing to detect problems early and treat them proactively.

When it comes to training, Dr Stevens feels EXPERIENCE MATTERS!  Dr Stevens has 42 years of veterinary experience diagnosing, treating and prognosing the medical and surgical problems of your pet/s.  Dr Stevens graduated from the Purdue University of Veterinary Medicine in 1980 and has seen over 3000 animals a year for the past 33 years.  In addition, Dr Stevens takes over 100 hours of continuing education courses a year to upgrade and stay current on his skills.
